Indie rock duo Social Gravy approach rock'n'roll with honesty and depth. Formed of Brad Kohn and Vee Bordukov, the band share a love of real instruments and the richness of live acoustics. Vee’s adolescence in Belarus as before the fall of the Berlin Wall meant rock music was a forbidden fruit, yet this only encouraged his curiosity. Now Vee and Brad rebel on a smaller scale with their commitment to real sounds, human recordings, and refreshing lack of editing and excess production tools. With a well-formed songwriting partnership, the duo experiment to find the tantalizing spirit of rock and roll with a discography which draws from acts like Coldplay, The Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles, Eric Clapton and The Black Keys.

Both members are classically trained – Brad as a pianist, and Vee as a guitarist – and they have carried this into their current work by celebrating the physical touch and technicality of playing music. The two of them describe their music as ‘romantic rock'n'roll’ – which takes the heart and soul of rock’s countercultural roots to combine it with an emphasis on live tracking. With soul-searching lyrics and a steadfast belief in musical depth and richness, they go the extra mile in a world where this is often an act of rebellion in itself.

Their discography includes the 2017 album Behind Every Yes, the 2019 singles California and Let It Out, and the 2020 EP A Different Kind. With an unashamed focus on sentiment, Social Gravy keep the spirit of rock alive by being unafraid to lay their music bare both emotionally and in terms of their raw, unfiltered sound.

About Brad Kohn

Brad Kohn, Producer on SoundBetter
Brit rocker Brad Kohn is an award-winning producer, songwriter, artist and engineer has been playing music all his life, starting with the piano at six years old—and ten years later, he was fronting a band on the London circuit. The talented musician’s production skills have seen him work with some of the industry’s biggest names, including Foo Fighters, The Prodigy and Neil Young to name a few. Brad moved to Los Angeles in 2014 given his increased workload in the US and met Vee later that year… the rest is a story unfolding...

About Vee Bordukov

With rock ‘n’ roll music being the dangerous forbidden fruit in Belarus—then a part of the Soviet Union—it’s no surprise that the adventurous Vee rebelled against the gray status quo and fell in love with rock. The guitarist’s influences are rooted in classic solos from Jimi Hendrix while mixing up the bluesy passion of artists like Eric Clapton and J.J. Cale, spiced up with a love of the social commentary of The Kinks, Paul Simon and Bob Dylan.
