On August 8, 1966, The Beatles LP Revolver was released in the United States. Huge shoutout to the nineteen-year old Geoff Emerick--his first album as chief engineer for The Beatles--for putting up with their constant requests to create outlandish sounds--the whole world appreciates it! Geoff wrote in his book Here, There and Everywhere about it: "Revolver very rapidly became the album where the Beatles would say, "OK, that sounds great, now let's play [the recording] backwards or speeded up or slowed down." They tried everything backwards, just to see what things sounded like." Our Revolver favorites: ‘Eleanor Rigby’, 'Here There and Everywhere', and 'Taxman" (to play). Comments are closed.
