Stone Cold took us a long time to write, with many structural and lyrical revisions. The whole process took probably several months off and on. Tweaking with the lyrics went on through the actual recording at the East West Studios. 
 
The song’s structure is unusual: it has a very slow opening supported by Hammond and ambient noises only, all the way through the second verse where drums kick in, and full force only in the second chorus.
 
This song is about a personal journey. A journey of someone who is not quite sure where and how to find the support to go forward. There are existential thoughts. You know, like the feeling you sometimes have that the ground beneath you starts to give way, and you don't know if you'll be able to push on. I think this song evokes the feelings of angst, anxiety--but resolving into a stronger you. There’s introspection, triumph, healing, partnership, peace, gratitude, and rebirth. ~ Vee Bordukov, co-writer/ co-producer 

This is how you make music: Hours and hours of writing, playing, re-writing, recording, mixing, listening, then recording and re-mixing again. Repeat. Repeat again. Thanks to Daniel Lir of Dream Team Directors, we've got this cool video of our recording session at Studio 1 of East West Studios. That day we were recording our singles "Stone Cold" & "Fools" with Brad, Vee, Phil Simmonds (bass), Jake Hayden (drums), Erik Hammer (electric guitar), Steve Maggiora (hammond) and Jared Scott (engineer). 

Brad Kohn started playing piano at six, wrote his first song at nine and recorded his songs at a professional recording studio when he was ten. By sixteen, he fronted a rock band as lead singer and rhythm guitarist that played regularly on the London circuit. He went on to the academy the Academy of Contemporary Music to become a multi-platinum record producer. As a producer, he worked with such artists and songwriters as Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Neil Young, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Chase & Status, James Germain, Coldcut, Desmond Child, TMS, Fred Chateau, Gez O'Connell, Viktoria Hansen (check out Brad’s recording portfolio here).
 
In 2014 Brad moved to Los Angeles where he continues to pursue his music career as a producer, musician, songwriter and vocalist. Check out Brad's stunning vocals on Social Gravy's Stone Cold.
